  1. Ok, some genius looked at comic books and said- hey, this is a script story board already done!~ lets make super hero movies and all they ahd to do was back fill, start with treatment, etc etc to get to story board phase which was already done!
So look at critical role. For 4 years these guys have been writing a script. Fans of MST2000 or 3000 will find the jokes the cast makes between themselves and Matt reminiscent of that show. The adventure and the dice role is awesome, but its that in-between stuff that more people will remember. Look at some of the fan animated stuff, Jesters asking for a safe is precious. Also take note, the images of the characters? might as well have been crowdfunded, by that I mean its the fans that came up with how these characters looked most notably Nott's half-mask. Initially it was just a "mask" then when the fans got a hold of it with some input from the cast, that half-mask slightly broken and downright charming half mask was created.
It would be really hard to script all the asides so I think the cast or maybe a professional editor can take the audo transcripts and edit out some of the asides. In fact I think dragon naturally speaking can put the whole thing on paper and it just needs someone to go In and clean up the dialogue- cross out overtalking or unrelated to the scene stuff. Will take time, but thats a lot of content.
What I would like to see is more what dice to use on the show itself, like roll for advantage? roll what die? I am a novice DnD person- well heard of it for 30 year played it once or twice early on but never had a consistent group so it fell out of favor(laughed at all the behind the times people that thought it was satanic), but the reason I say that is I would like to play along at home- roll my own dice as they do their thing. It would be easy to fit myself in, privately, at home. I could probably play along somewhat.
Which brings another idea, an interactive game, based on these campaigns, that already have hours of gameplay established (4 hours a week for 2years?) where YOU can play with THEM- those characters in that same adventure- wait, that sounds like Pantheon- nm. heh

But as far as a cartoon? the script is already written.

  2. Sometimes my dnd group and I will just start singing this over voice call during or before session and I think that's wonderful

  3. I love that Mather Mercer is always the cloaked almighty force in the background of these animations. I give him recognition in them that he deserves but subtlety, just as it should be as to keep the amazing immersion that he creates.

  4. It's a little late, but I admire every detail put into this trailer. My favorite being the role of Matt Mercer as DM, you clearly see him disappear and then appearing as the overseer/mastermind behind the adventure that will unfold.

  5. Send to Netflix… You'll all voice-act this new animated series every day of every week except Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. 😛

You have 2 jobs now… voice-acting this series and Critical Role. 😀

  6. At the end they shouldn't be able to use magic because they are clearly in the line of sight of the beholders primary eye.

  7. 0:40 Fact checker habit of mine: in the (rare) cases I see a depictation of a Beholder, I ALWAYS check whether ALL ten eyestalks are drawn.

  8. I don't know why but this song makes me so happy inside… reminds me so much of watching ThunderCats and He-Man growing up and it just feels so GOOD! 😀

  9. omg plaese! i need a steady drip of what ever this is the action in the video is fantastic. especially when Nott stabs the knoll in the head! AWESOME!

  10. You got the perfect warlock your weapons and supplies but you need a place to track your stuff because your so disorganized you click open a webpage you heard about a critical role now your ready to kick some butt in a mind shaft full of gnolls d and d d and d d and d you got your stuff your luck and your physical role d and d d and d d and d beyond best I could do

  11. Love, love, LOVE this!!! But why didn't Jester get more screen time? If even Yasha did (love to Yasha, but she's around less) it seems unfair that Jester really didn't get any moments to herself in the animation. <3

I'd bet Crunchyroll or Funimation would take it on… and Beyond. 😉

  13. I'm so happy this happened and I'll gladly watch all 5 and a half hours of Sam Riegel's DnD Beyond ad bits. 😀

  14. This sounds like it could be in the old D&D animated series, or something similar. It's nostalgic. It makes me grin. The animation is fun and fluid too.

  15. I know this shows the Mighty Nein but it’s so funny how Sam wrote this and he played a bard in campaign 1.

  16. I’m looking at this from a musical perspective. It’s incredible. Sam’s voice is awesome, the music itself sounds like a theme song straight from the 90’s, the animation’s pacing with the music is more than amazing, and it makes me want something like this for my own campaign so bad. 😭😭😭

  17. Critical roll is not the only place to hear about something. Way to plug a advertisement for another thing into an advertisement.

  18. Between this and the Critical Role theme cartoon I am seriously craving a D&D cartoon series. Something to replace the old D&D cartoon and is geared for kids and adults alike.

  19. Now this is a very good advertisement and all, but at 1.25x speed this stuff just become seriously epic and fire!

  20. I'd certainly like an animated series of the second Critical Role campaign before the first campaign, but, hey, that's probably just me.

  21. ahh still a awesome theme song. I can still feel the rush I felt when I first watched it on CR. but it's also sad. I still miss you Mollymock, long may be reign.

  22. So many positive comments already… I've been going through the second campaign podcasts episode by episode and while regularly impressed by Sam's ads, this is way, way over the top. Less than three to infinity, TMN4EVR.

  23. I’d love a D&d animated series. It could literally go forever due to all of the possible characters and stories!

  24. I need someone to pls make me part of a campaign? My username is raelini and I have a bunch of good characters for the campaign.

  25. i love how, when you just type in "dnd bey" in the youtube search bar, "dnd beyond song" is listed above "dnd beyond".

  26. Love it! <3 – Many of us had pokemon when we grew up – If our kids grow up with dnd. what a wonderful world they will make for their kids
